A refurbishment and extension of an existing victorian villa to create a private medical facility offering surgical services

The building provides complementary services to Glasgow Private Clinic adjacent. The existing structure is stripped back to the essentials to create space for the new accommodation and extended to the side to provide service spaces and a new accessible entrance. The extension is intentionally modern to highlight the difference with the historic structure and highlight the new entrance. The brown, copper cladding is chosen for durability and impact as well as being complementary to the original sandstone, natural slate and timber.
