The refurbishment and extension of an existing house

The existing building was a 2-storey house, extended over the years to the point where it had become disjointed with poor front and rear links and no central space. The refurbishment creates a central space visually linking the front and back of the ground floor and providing a heart to the house containing the kitchen, dining and living areas. The garden becomes part of the house with large, opening glass doors and an external patio linking both the public and private lounge areas.
